Our sorters handle letters, postcards, magazines, newspapers, polywrapped pieces, flats, and mixed mail, up to 12″ x 17″ and 0.75″ thick. The transport has no turns or carousels, so fragile pieces come through clean.
We’ve been building presort equipment and software since 1988, for presort bureaus and for mailers who sort their own. Here’s what our sorters do for your operation:
If you run a presort operation, your margin is made in the sort room. Machine throughput, operator hours, and how many trays qualify decide whether a client is worth having. Our equipment is built around that math:
Plenty of companies sell sorters. Here’s what’s different about ours:

Our sorters handle letters, postcards, magazines, newspapers, polywrapped pieces, flats, and mixed mail, up to 12″ x 17″ and 0.75″ thick. The transport has no turns or carousels, so fragile pieces come through clean.
It depends on the machine. Letter sorters run up to 30,000 pieces per hour, flat sorters up to 20,000, and parcel sorters up to 3,600 packages per hour.
Presorted mail qualifies for USPS workshare discounts, and after July 2026’s 4.8% rate increase those discounts are worth more than ever. Well-run sorting operations typically cut postage costs by up to 20%. The exact number depends on your volume and mail mix, which is what we work out in a free consultation.
A few things change when the machine does the sorting:
The machine feeds each piece past a camera system that reads the address, printed or handwritten. Software matches the address against your sort scheme, sprays an Intelligent Mail barcode on the piece, and diverts it to the bin for its destination. Sorted mail comes off in trays, ready for USPS.
Most of the machine is built to order:
Yes. Our machines are designed so one person can run a full sort at speed. For a lot of mailers, that’s the difference that makes in-house presorting pay.
Current Tritek sorters include:
Yes. USPS certification is what lets your mail qualify for presort discounts — it verifies the equipment sorts to Postal Service standards. Without certified equipment and properly prepared trays, the discounts don’t apply. Every Tritek sorter is USPS-certified.
Presort companies, or presorters, are mailing intermediaries. They collect mail from many clients, combine it all, and sort it into full trays that qualify for bulk USPS discounts, sharing the savings with their clients. Tritek builds the sorting equipment presort companies run, and helps mailers who’d rather capture those discounts themselves.
